The achievement of Internet has brought a tremendous transformation in the educational field, especially in teaching methodologies and distance education with the collaboration of multimedia and virtual learning environment.
In 1969, a UCLA team led by prominent professor of computer science Len Kleinrock sent the very first message over the ARPANET, an interconnected networking system which later became known as the Internet.

On February 16, 1978, Computerized Bulletin Board System, or CBBS went online, later gradually evolved into Internet forum, which allows people to post threads and to discuss different topics freely.

The idea of OCW later adopted by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 2002,and followed by a number of universities. The launching of iPod by Apple in 2001 has given the society an alternative option to download learning materials from the web and carry them all around in a relatively small size. The education has become portable!
